Scented Candles and Air Fresheners Can Release Dangerous Cocktails of Cancerous Chemical

Dangerous_chemicalsAccording to a new study, candles and air fresheners can release cancerous and deadly chemicals into homes. Experts also found that the perfumes could mutate once they came in contact with the air – ultimately building up dangerous levels of these toxins.

During this study, a professor the National Centre for Atmospheric Science at the University of York in the United Kingdom conducted a test of these scented candles and air fresheners in six houses over the course of five days. The test measured the levels of various harmful ‘volatile organic chemicals’ (VOCs) and a number of other substances.

This study is part of a longer series of research reports that point to the true dangers of using scented candles and air fresheners. The idea was further explained in the recent Stink! documentary, which highlights how U.S. companies are putting hazardous chemicals into their fragrance products.

But don’t let this scary study get you down – there is a healthy alternative to keeping your air clear. Fresh Wave! Our products go way beyond being an air freshener – they remove odor at the source.
