New Years Resolution Guide

New Years Resolution Guide

A Fresh Start to the New Year!

Welcome 2017!

With a new year comes a fresh start and we want to help you begin the year happy, healthy, and of course, odor-free.  To do so, we’ve compiled a short list of a few great tips to get you off on the right foot in 2017:

Reflect on what went well for you in 2016.

“It’s extremely easy to hop into your list of resolutions feeling completely guilty about your previous year…So before even getting started on that list, think about all that you achieved this year, and even the crazy experiences you had, like winning Hamilton lottery tickets, or watching the Chicago Cubs win the World Series for the first time in 108 years. This will help you feel empowered, but you’ll also see what inspired you.”

Bustle.com

Stat your day with green tea.

“A cup of green tea can give you a nice boost of energy with a healthy dose of anti-stress vitamins and minerals.”

Popsugar

Imagine. Achieve. Believe

“Make a Vision Board. Creating a sacred space that displays what you want actually does bring it to life. What we focus on expands. When you create a vision board and place it in a space where you see it often, you essentially end up doing short visualization exercises throughout the day.”

The Huffington Post

Acquire a fitness posse.

“An accountability partner can be a friend or a personal trainer—someone that’s only a phone call away. Rankin observes, “If you know that you are letting someone down by not working out, then you are more likely to stick to a plan, especially if you’re paying that person.”

Natural Awakenings Magazine

Cook at home.

“The single, most important resolution for anyone’s overall good health.  If you cook your own meals you know exactly what goes into them.  You can choose good quality ingredients and a healthier method of cooking like steaming or baking. Making food from scratch is not that complicated and your meals will be healthier and tastier.”

Creative and Healthy Fun Food

Do a refrigerator makeover.

“When you’re hungry, you’re more likely to grab a quick and easy snack, which often isn’t the healthiest. Try putting the healthier foods front and center in your fridge, keeping the indulgent foods out of sight, and doing some prep work.”

Today Show

My New Years resolution is just to pay more attention to my self. My health, fitness and general well being! When you give yourself so much to your family, it’s easy to forget about yourself

These are some wonderful tips, and I can’t agree more with people eating at home more often. We made that pledge years ago and haven’t eaten a dinner out since. So nice to eat with the family at home each and every night. As for other times, I could probably count on one hand how may times we have eaten out for breakfast or lunch.

My current resolution is to get more active and spend less time on the computer.

One of my resolutions I made this year is to reduce my impact on the planet. So this is absolutely perfect! I want to reduce how what I buy impacts the planet. Everything from the food we eat, the clothes we wear to the cleaning supplies. I don’t want to use chemicals in my home or have them enter the watershed. So my goal is to review everything I buy and make sure it is safe for my family and for the planet. It will benefit my health as well as the planet.

“Do a refrigerator makeover.” This is a brilliant idea! I do most definitely just open the fridge and grab the easiest thing and the first thing I find. If I keep my fruit up front, slice some cheese, put the yogurt up front and then hide the indulgent, more junk food like candy bars or even just the hershey’s syrup, I’m going to grab the fruit or some cheese and crackers! That’s a great idea!
